As we get ready to celebrate Labor Day weekend and mark the end of a great summer season, we wanted to take some time to reflect back on these past few months. We had a lot of great things to celebrate this summer, from another successful round of 6W2C, to the launch of a few new classes based on your pop up class feedback, but hands down the standout memory from the summer would have to be taking our Poiseboarde class to the waves.
Don't get us wrong, we love the community we've built at our Lynnfield studio, but there's nothing quiet like taking your workout outside! Our signature Poise method moves had an added level of challenge when moved onto the stand up paddleboard, and the relaxing scenery and gentle movement of the water helped to add a zen feel to the class. We loved mixing things up with this class offering, and we're so sad to pack away our boards for the offseason. Before we say farewell to the waves until next June, we wanted to take the time to reflect back on all the things we love about this new addition to our summer schedule!
So, why bring Poise to the water? Danielle weighs in...
The idea of bringing Poise to the water has been in the making for well over a year, way back into the winter of 2015 as a matter of fact! I ran the idea by Leah Goodman, owner of SUP - East Coast Style, who was super excited about the idea, and we couldn't wait for the warm weather to be upon us! As many things in life go, last summer just wasn't the time for us - I became unexpectedly pregnant, had a wedding and a honeymoon; and in the midst of first trimester sickness and hormonal imbalance, we just couldn't pull it all together for the Summer '15 season. This spring we made it a point to bring the idea to life, and in yet another chaotic summer season, complete with a very active 6-month old, we made it happen! The vision was to bring all the benefits of the poise method to a gorgeous waterfront environment and soak up all the beauty that summer in New England has to offer! We can't wait to offer the class bigger and better next season! Thanks to all who came out to experience Poiseboarde!

What better way to incorporate exercise on a gorgeous summer day?! I had so much fun and definitely got a good workout in. Whether a novice or experienced paddleboarder this class will have you working up a sweat while having a blast out on the water. I'm hooked! -Pam
Being able to on the water while working out is everything to me! Poiseboarde is definitely a super challenging class, with lots of core work. Also - don't underestimate lunges on a paddle board! I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get out of their comfort zone! -Kelsey
Poiseboarde was a great workout physically and mentally. Physically for your core balancing the board, working out your arms to paddle and mentally listening to the sounds of the sea. I highly recommend it and can't wait to do it again! -Rosemarie
