Did you know that more than 30% of the annual charity and volunteerism in America takes place in December alone? It seems appropriate with the holiday season so close that our next Poised and Caring adventure is rapidly approaching. As many of you have noticed on the SP Calendar Chalkboard, this Saturday, December 06 we will be making quilts and teddy bears at Brookhaven in Lexington, MA. (1010 Waltham Street, Lexington, MA)
This event is run by many quilting guilds and quilters from the area. The quilts go to nursing homes and shelters in the area while the teddy bears go to police departments, the Department of Children and Families to be distributed to children in emergency or traumatic situations. You need absolutely zero quilting or sewing experience! If that’s not your cup of tea, you can make kits for future workshops, too! There will be jobs for everyone and many opportunities to #spreadthesparkle.
The workshop lasts all day, but our Poised and Caring Group will be going from 10 – 12. You do not have to stay that full time if you are unable. Lunch will be served. Last year’s event had over 80 people in attendance. Do you think that we can get #poisenation to help them break one hundred?
This event will take such a small amount of your time and will bring such warmth, comfort and happiness to so many. We hope to see you there. If you have any questions about the event, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas.
